Koya Moments en Evidence

Als liefhebber van de avantgardistische muziek van Philip Glass kon ik niet om dit YouTube-filmpje heen: Koya Moments / An Edinburgh time lapse movie. Geïnspireerd op de film Koyaanisqatsi van Godfrey Reggio over het leven dat uit balans is geraakt met die prachtige muziek van Philip Glass met beelden zoals alleen Godfrey Reggio die kan maken. Ook de andere films uit de Qatsi-trilogie, Powaqqatsi (transformaties in het leven) en Naqoyqatsi (het leven als een strijd) laten dezelfde unieke manier van filmen zien en de bijzondere muziek van Philip Glass – daar kun je ook niet omheen.
De maker van dit YouTube-filmpje heeft op inspirerende wijze de lucht boven Edinburgh gefotografeerd en er een unieke video van gemaakt met een fragment van de muziek uit Koyaanitsqatsi.

In tribute to Ron Fricke who filmed Koyaanisqatsi ( one of my favourite films) This film charts the progress of the day and night, the changing light, weather and progress of the moon and stars . Enjoy ( do enjoy as it took two years to make!)
Technical assistance was by Alistair Meldrum who provided the specs for the pans and other things well beyond me, drove me places and had to give up a lot of his own time-lapse due to me getting there first.
Music ( shamefully I forgot to add this to the final version credits) Phillip Glass from his violin concerto.
Video editing – greatly helped by Rene Orielly who pointed the way to good editing and who was not at all shy by giving rough comments ( and i like that)
