Bubbles by Petra Dubach and Mario van Horrik
Six vases are filled with a mixture of water, soap and other ingredients. From the ceiling a thin tube hangs into the mixture. With aquariumpumps air is being blown into the mixture, causing it to start bubbling. In this way, the soap first makes a column of bubbles reaching sometimes a height of up to 2 meters, that then gently falls down to the ground, continuing to create beautiful and constantly changing sculptures of soap. This work was and can be exhibited as an installation; acoustically or amplified, or with the sounds electronically processed. The pumps can be put on timers, so the viewer gets an impression of different stages of the process in one glance. Cast: mario and petra
