In this piece I was interested in mitigating the experience of 2 disparate video projections, one featuring dramatic imagery and one featuring more mundane or banal actions or scenes. These two videos are projected on the exterior of a space. A viewer sits in this space and vertical portions of each montage stream into the room and are projected on the interior walls. These narrow strips of light are not entirely readable; they are transformed into movement, color, and light. I want my viewer to reflect on the loss of meaning and discernment created by the simultaneity and fragmentation of these projections, potentially prompting reflection about contemporary culture. Tiger & Turtle – Magic Mountain
Met hun sculptuur Tiger & Turtle – Magic Mountain hebben Heike Mutter en Ulrich Genth in het zuiden van de Duitste stad Duisburg een indrukwekkend landmark voor het Ruhrgebied gerealiseerd. De vorm van het kunstwerk roept duidelijk associaties op met een rollercoaster, een achtbaan.
Het monumentale werk is op 13 november van dit jaar officiëel geopend en als je de Heinrich-Hildebrand-heuvel in het landschapspark Angerpark hebt beklommen, staat je nog een boeiende wandeling over deze sculptuur te wachten – 365 dagen per jaar én gratis.
Afgelopen zondag hebben we het kunstwerk bezocht. Het aantal bezoekers was echter dusdanig groot dat we op een wachttijd van zeker anderhalf uur moest rekenen – de sculptuur mag door maar 100 bezoekers gelijktijdig betreden worden… We hebben het gehouden bij het maken van de nodige foto’s en de wandeling naar een latere datum verschoven.

Het kunstwerk is gemaakt van staal en zink die beide een historische relatie met de locatie van de sculptuur hebben. Hier is namelijk ooit zink geproduceerd en het staalverwerkingsbedrijf Krupp Mannesmann bevindt zich vlakbij.
Het Ruhrgebied bevat een grote collectie lichtobjecten en landmarken, nu aangevuld met de nieuwe sculptuur van Heike Mutter en Ulrich Genth. Het kunstwerk wordt ‘s nachts verlicht en is daardoor al van verre zichtbaar.
Heike Mutter en Ulrich Genth hebben met hun sculptuur een eigenzinnig kunstwerk gecreëerd voor de stad Duisburg die zichzelf een metropool noemt. De kronkelende vorm op de top van de Magic Mountain roept beelden op van een enorme snelheid en versnelling. Tijdens de wandeling naar de top van de Magic Mountain en over de sculptuur krijg je een schitterend panorama te zien van Duisburg en zijn industriële omgeving.
Je vindt de sculptuur op de Heinrich-Hildebrand-Höhe in het Angerpark in Duisburg-Wanheim op de hoek van de Kaiserswerther Straße en de Berzeliusstraße.

Dancing Fall.2011
As a public art, Dancing Fall is focused on combining natural object with artificial interactive object. People no longer watch the waterfall but they actively play it as a performer. The video beyond the stream abstractly represents the movement of water and the acting of the audience. Jae-suk Huh adopt the water that is the most unfriendly with electronic objects because, he wanted to make a harmony between unfamiliar artificial and natural things. The stream of water changes its shape according to the way the audience move the stream of rubber. Finally, they find the video beyond it and experience water performance. Hong-Ik Univ.
